Cheryl Folkers Fine Art
Cheryl Folkers resides in the picturesque region of southwestern Washington, where she draws inspiration from the surrounding beauty and vibrant colors. A lifelong passion for art has led her to specialize in drawing and painting portraits since childhood. Following the upbringing of her family, she eagerly embraced her artistic journey, dedicating herself to painting with fervor. Always in search of new subjects, she keeps her camera at hand to capture moments that inspire her work. Additionally, she undertakes consignment projects, aiming to create the most authentic representations of individuals and landscapes.
Her landscape artworks predominantly feature natural scenes, such as waterfalls and mountains, which evoke memories of her upbringing in Montana. Having lived in SW Washington for the past 35 years, she cherishes the forests, rivers, and ocean, appreciating the richness of the local environment. The challenge of encapsulating the essence of a specific location captivates her, allowing her to almost sense the breeze and the scent of the sea through her art.
As she embarks on this artistic venture, Cheryl finds the experience both daunting and fulfilling, leading her to new and creative opportunities. She has studied under various esteemed instructors, including Max Ginsburg and Robin Damore. Cheryl is an active member of the Northwest Oil Painting Guild and the Portrait Society of America, and she has received an invitation to join her instructor at the upcoming Portrait Society of America convention.
